Overview[]

In Brink you are able to select a set amount of Abilities. There are Class-specific abilities, as well as Universal Abilities which are active regardless of Class.

There are 57 Abilities total in the game. Every Ability in the game costs 1 Level Credit, but they also have a Rank requirement that you must meet before the Ability can be purchased. You can Respec, or sell, all of the abilities of a character in the abilities menu at the cost of one level. One Level Credit is lost when doing so, but it can be regained by leveling up. This is most likely to prevent players from resetting their abilities whenever they want to play other classes or playstyles.

Some of the Abilities in Brink are equipment (Molotov Cocktail, Lazarus Grenade, etc.) which means you must both map it to an Ability button and then equip it before being able to use it. There are only three Ability buttons, so choose wisely before you buy over three equipment Abilities.

Universal Abilities[]

These Abilities are ones that will always be available to you regardless of Class or Body Type, however you will have to reach the required Rank in order to purchase them. Even if you switch Classes at a Command Post you will still have these Abilities, assuming you have purchased them.

Soldier Abilities[]

These Abilities are exclusive to the Soldier class, therefore they are focused on tanking and being the frontline fighter. If you switch Classes at a Command Post these Abilities will be lost in exchange for the Abilities you have for the selected Class.

Medic Abilities[]

These Abilities are exclusive to the Medic, therefore they are focused on keeping your team alive and making them stronger. If you switch Classes at a Command Post these Abilities will be lost in exchange for the Abilities you have for the selected Class.

Engineer Abilities[]

These Abilities are exclusive to the Engineer class, therefore they are focused on building, repairing, upgrading command posts and buffing teammates. If you switch Classes at a Command Post these Abilities will be lost in exchange for the Abilities you have for the selected Class.

Operative Abilities[]

These Abilities are exclusive to the Operative class, therefore they are focused on stealthy operations, hacking, and sabotage. If you switch Classes at a Command Post these Abilities will be lost in exchange for the Abilities you have for the selected Class.
