could be required. i bought D2D and used the key on steam. hard-copy keys work for steam as well. i havent tried not using steam truthfully.

in point of fact, direct2drive does not require Direct2Drive. stand alone installers in .zip format are available for each game. these do not require Comrade or Download Manager. i am told it is easier with Download Manager but i never use it.
